Experience Costa Rica partners with local people who are already making a difference in their own community through construction, relational ministry, and education. We participate in on-going Tico*-led efforts, supporting their good work with our labor and love. (Tico is the word that Costa Ricans use to refer to themselves as a people group).
The goal of the Experience program is to discover the many ways a person can be the hands and feet of Jesus both at home and abroad.

Young Women
Experience Costa Rica offers a unique medium-length missions opportunity for young women between the ages of 19 and 24.
During your time in Costa Rica, you will explore what it means to “step away, step into, and step out” through a variety of different kinds of international mission work in a single setting, La Fortuna, Costa Rica. EXPERIENCE is hosted by Jenny Lee, a U.S. missionary based la Iglesia Metodista, a local church in La Fortuna. Participants will spend three and a half weeks studying God’s Word, learning Spanish, working with a variety of mission opportunities. Those opportunities may include doing light construction, leading Bible school, teaching English, maybe even making tamales for a church fundraiser. The goal of the Experience program is to discover the many ways a person can be the hands and feet of Jesus both at home and abroad. The Experience program can be personally tailored to each participant’s interests and abilities. Experience missions in Costa Rica!

Retreats
Whether you’re looking for a place for your organization’s leadership to re-ignite your passion or a place for your church group to deepen their shared purpose, Experience Costa Rica can host your retreat!
We can arrange your housing, transportation, a service experience, and a little fun while you focus on your mission!
*retreats do not have to be faith based
Families
We love seeing children learning and putting scripture into action. Watching and following the example set by their parents from a young age has a lasting impact. Our families have painted classrooms and taught English classes in a local elementary school. They have also had the opportunity to visit and pour into children in the orphanage.
Don’t worry, we’ll take a little time to play and set the pace according to the age of your children. But what better setting to learn about another culture and see what it means to live the love of Jesus wherever you are!
Mission Teams
Are you a short term mission team leader looking for an international mission site?
We would love to host your team! Experience Costa Rica partners with local people who are already making a difference in their own community. Our teams can choose whether to do relational ministry, construction ministry, or a mix of the two.
In recent years, our construction teams have built English classrooms in a local elementary school, helped repair the house of 3 siblings who lost their parents, and helped a struggling family in a special needs situation create a safe place to do rehab.
Our relational teams have worked with local churches in Vacation Bible School, made tamales for fundraisers, invested in children in the local orphanage, visited with families, and delivered food to families.
Don’t worry, our team leader training will help you prepare and we take care of the details. All transportation after your arrival at the airport, housing, food, projects, translators, tours – we arrange it all!

Experience works with local camps, farms, and hotels to provide accommodations that best meet the needs of each group. Our team will discuss the specific needs of the group during the trip planning process and provide options based on the information received.
